IIRC, there was a web page detailing a method for tapping into a
SmartWatch to bypass its battery, but I don't recall where I saw
it... ;-(
It involved soldering two leads onto the tiny circuit board beneath
the top (ROM) socket of the SmartWatch. Looking up the datasheet
for the Dallas chip should reveal which points to tap to bypass the
battery (without powering the ROM and the board).
