That is exactly the configuration I had back in 4th grade when I got my
IIGS for Christmas. You ARE going to need more memory to use the unique
features. I had added 256K (for a total of 768) within a year. 512K is
not enough to run System 6.0.1, or even 5.0.4. You are not going to be
able to use any of the best software with that amount of memory. I agree
with the other posters that you will want AT LEAST 2MB, but 4-8 MB is
best. You may want a hard drive to eliminate disk swapping, but is not
absolutely necessary.
