The biggest hurdle faced by a resurrected Amiga is the same one
faced by Avatar and the rest. The concept is sound, but then
you will have to sell it to an audience that asks "is there an Intel
inside" or "does it run PC software."
You can build an Amiga to run PC software and Mac software
and Amigas in fact have had these emulations....but you don't
want to sell these units as primarily Wintel or MacOS units....
the real things run those softwares better.
The Amiga may have a niche market in Europe in the video
area and diehard Commodore users and even disgruntled GS
users who want something similar to upgrade to but not like
PC or Mac....but that still sounds like a small market.
I think Gateway 2000 might be looking to take out some of
the Amiga technology and put it into their PC units. Video
Toaster stuff integrated into an Intel Pentium II unit perhaps.
