Remove copyright infringing works immediately
Your ftp site at ground.isca.uiowa.edu, directory apple2 contains
many copyright infringing items which the admin is too cowardly to
check on his own to find and delete. In the file
'apple2/Faqs/F002ACCEL.TXT', there is an unauthorized editing and
reposting of Frank M. Lin's mini Zip/TWGS FAQ which I hold the
copyright for. Please delete asap. In addition, the 'F001C1CDROM.TXT'
is a bastardized version of the Apple II CDROM FAQ. Delete as well.
All of the contents in that directory appear to be modified by
'rubywand' a notorious pirate of Apple II stuff to promote piracy and
theft thru your university's computers. There are many references to
the ftp site 'ftp.apple.asimov.net' (or asimov.com, same thing) which
is a pirate ftp site for material that ground at least recognizes as
being illegal. But, in providing the links without any warning or the
like, you are promoting piracy, and showing blatant disregard for
intellectual property rights-- which uiowa.edu's computer acceptible
usage policy prohibits.
If these references cannot be edited by the sysadmin, the files
should be removed and/or made unreadable on ground.isca.uiowa.edu and
the mirror on liquefy.
Thank your for your prompt attention to this matter.
