Another reason I'm building the randnum UAM is that although Marsha's
CDEV supports cleartext authentication, the IIgs netboot login still
rejects my cleartext credentials. If netatalk could offer randnum
authentication, then the IIgs netboot login should be able to use
that. Anybody know how to patch the IIgs netboot login in the same
way Marsha did for the CDEV so that cleartext auth works?
The issue is due to cleartxt password being reversed during a buffer
copy while building the Appletalk packet for logon request.
I have a patch to fix this issue for both of the boot blocks.
When I get home tonight I will pass these on.

Yay! Glad to see someone else is having fun voiding their Dockstar
warranty! :-) For $20 on ePay, you really can't beat it for a low-
cost, low-power file server!

Couldn't you just tuck the dockstar inside the //gs case and power it
off the 12v rail? It only uses 8 watts after all...

That's the idea. The DockStar uses 9V for its input; is it possible
to somehow get that from the power supply or from using the
LittlePower adapter? If it can be done, we can put the DockStar and
the Etherwave adapter (chained from the ADB port) inside the IIgs
case.
