   On ProDOS disk, you'll run out of disk space on a partition before
you fill up a subdirectory, essentially. HFS might limit you to 32768
or 65536 files, but in both cases, you'll find that file selection
dialogs start going glacial as the number of files goes thru the roof.
So, it's going to be far more of a question of your patience as the
limit, not the actual disk.
