The stock Apple IIc runs at 1Mhz.

If this is a problem with the analogy, then the Apple IIc Plus, which
runs at 4Mhz, would be a better comparison.  But then the IIc Plus
had a 3.5" 800k disk drive.  In these two respects, it would make
it more similar to that C65 prototype.  Then the problem would be
the C65's better graphics, but that can be explained with "minus
excitement and fun."  ;-)
