Update and solution to problem of installing 6.01 on a IIGS rom 3 with CMS
Scsi card.
Thanks to tips from Mitchell Spector and Nathan Mates, I finally figured out
the the scsi drivers that come on the Install Disk of System 6.01 as
downloaded from ftp.apple.com are incompatible with CMS ver 3.0 and
probably below -scsi cards.
I removed the scsi.manager and scsihd.driver files from the Install disk and
replaced the same two files AND the CMS.driver from the CMS Utility disk
into the driver folder and then booted from the Install disk.
With these scsi drivers installed, the Install disk recognizes the hard drive
and installation went smoothly from that point.
The operating system seems much faster.. noticibly so.. I guess all you know
that already.. but it was nice to see.
Thanks..
Hope this info helps some other newbie..
