It takes quite a long time. As of now, the only way to do
such a conversion is frame by frame. You have to load the
QuickTime Movie into a PC or Mac paint program and save each
frame as a GIF or TIF graphic. Then, when you get them to
the GS, they need to be converted to APF or SHR format. The
video is them reassembled using a GS paint program into a
PaintWorks animation. The sound track is easily converted
using the normal sound and music programs. HyperCard IIGS
puts them all together again.
This process would be much easier if someone wrote a utility
to do the work automatically. A utility that can play the
video as it loads from disk rather than loading the whole
thing into memory will help too. Unfortunately, the video
in a PaintWorks animation must be preloaded.
BTW, this demo proves that those who say it is pointless to
make a QuickTime GS are wrong. Most QuickTime movies are
320x200 or so in size. This translates perfectly into full
screen GS video.
