I opened it up and the brand name for the card with the ram chips on it is
MICROMAX SYSTEMS. I am making a guess that this is the card with the ram on
it, because there are only three cards on the motherboard, one of which is
labeled Printerpro (printer card), and the other is labeled in really small
letters "DISK ][ interface card" (where I connect my two disk drives to).
The motherboard itself is labeled Apple IIe copyrighted 1982. Is there any
othe information needed to help get some more info on how to tell this
problem? Just to recap what's going on, Booting up with Apple Works is no
problem. It reads the disk fine, however when it prompts me to insert the
programs diskette, I insert the programs diskette, and it can't read it,
because when the light goes on the disk drive (after I inserted the
programs diskette), the screen doesn't change and it still says insert the
programs diskette. Now I am sure that most likely I will have to get an
original copy of the diskette, since it may be corrupted, but I just wanted
to know if there was any other things that I can check with this computer
that might be causing this problem. I did the diagnostics check with
holding down the control + closed apple + reset keys and the only thing it
prompted me with was the word "RAM:" and nothing else. Any suggestions,
help, or comments is appreciated, and hugs and kisses go out to all those
that emailed me with help for this computer.
