I am an Apple II BASIC junkie. I am running an Apple IIGS with ProDOS 8 and I
am doing BASIC program only. I have a Macintosh networked to an Apple
Personal LaserWriter 320 via LocalTalk. I'd like to network the IIGS to them
so I can print to the laser printer directly from BASIC.
I have been printing BASIC program listings from the IIGS via a serial cable
to a communication program running on the Mac, copying the incoming text to a
word processor, formatting the text and then printing to the laser printer
from there. It is a bit of a drawn out process and hardly worth the effort in
most cases. But I also want to print other things than just BASIC program listings.
I have AppleWorks version 2.0 that came with the IIGS and it would be cool to
get it to print directly to the laser printer. I use my Mac for all my word
processing, database, etc. and the IIGS is just a toy to me. Maybe a newer
version has network printing built in (I know that AppleWorks GS does) but I
like to play.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
