Re: apple //e Hardware problem (response to Nathan Mates)

>>>The problem really is running a certain software. Now I have a boot up disk
and it works fine. It boots up, brings me to a screen, and it says "please
insert appleworks programs disk." When I pop in the disk, it reads drive 1
(where the disk is), then switches over and tries to read drive 2 (no disk
in it) and then stops. the screen doesn't change, it still asks for the
programs disk.

It sounds like you're missing part of the program. Side one of AppleWorks is
the boot disk. Side 2 has the actual program files. It sounds like you ony have
one good side. Doesn't sound "ORIGINAL" to me. (Sorry Nathan, I got here
first!) Suggest you find an original copy of the program.
