Any info on funky network equipment?

I've got a few Apple ][s from a defense contractor closing (complete
with the "No classified material to be processed on this system"
stickers, and found some interesting things.  Almost every one had
A card from Interactive Structures Inc. (A113-A REV4 C1980), usually
in slot 7, and a ribbon went out to a yellow box bearing the legend
"Data Acquisition System AI 13", also from Interactive Stuctures, Inc.
A different ribbon went to a card in a different computer (DI-09 REVC)
which could accommodate three ribbons (although at least one computer
had more than one such card).


Does anyone have any information on this system?  I'd be anxious to
hear it!
