Re: 3.5 inch disk drive for IIgs (apple brand) - Not workingproperly! Help!
Sam,
FWIW, I've got several IIGS systems, all of which are equipped with Rev D
RamFASTS with the SCSI-only Zip 100 drives and 3.5" floppy drives, and I've
never experienced a problem with the 3.5" drives not working, as you are.
Most of my machines have the 800kB drives on the built-in controller, but a
couple have 1.44mB drives on Superdrive cards. All have worked well together
with no conflicts for many, many years. Knock on wood.
So, I don't have a good answer for your problem. Have you eliminated the
'goofy' type of stuff - e.g. Bad diskettes, stray wiring around the rear
panel connector, or perhaps you have 1.44mB diskettes with (2) holes instead
of an 800kb with (1) hole inserted into a Superdrive mechanism inside your
external drive case - you know, things that you wouldn't ordinarily
consider?
Forgive me, I really stretching here. Aint troubleshooting grand?
