Excellent idea. Several years ago, I saw a school with a VAX system
and many PC of 286 and older slaved to it as terminals providing text
based internet access. I had thought that an effective way to make
many school Apple II internet capable with the basics, email-news-
lynx, would be to set up a similar system. The Apple II is no slower
than the old serial ports in those PC. The GS has even faster serial
than those old PC ever had. ProTERM 3.1 with the right macros
should do the trick.
