While you are waiting, hold your breath.

It is well known that, under the standard OS, Wolf3D crashes a
number of systems (perhaps all) on which Spectrum 1's Hierarchic INIT is
installed. (Playing Wolf3D may well lead to crashes, etc. under other
circumstances; if it does, anyone who has the information should post it
on csa2 before any more users take apart their systems.)

The whole focus of this discussion is upon the Hierarchic CDEV. We
are discussing the Hierarchic CDEV because substituting it for the INIT
appears to circumvent the system crashes associated with the Wolf3D bug.

You are, naturally, free to try linking every issue discussed on
csa2 with the particular aspect of GS function (i.e. the OS) to which
you have devoted your life. Nevertheless, in this thread, users are now
addressing the matter of Hierarchic CDEV availability.

As Jeffrey Robertson has stated, most Apple II users have better
uses for their money than joining an on-line service in order to
download a CDEV.

Nice games and OS patches are rained upon us by those wishing only
to serve and to be recognized and appreciated. Why not the Hierarchic
CDEV, too? Nobody is selling it, the CDEV would get used, and the CDEV's
creator would gain recognition and the appreciation of users!

Oh, all right; you can stop holding your breath now.
