Yes, but there is only one program on the Apple II which will even
recognize StuffIt archives. Unfortunately, that program is outdated and
was never updated to be compatible with recent versions of StuffIt (9
out of 10 times the archive contents are dimmed when opened in GSHK).
So the point is, unless you come across ancient *.sit files, you
can't touch that archive format on an Apple II (or back to the topic of
this thread, those Wolfenstein 3D scenarios compressed with StuffIt).
OTOH, there are ZIP extractors widely available for the Apple II and
that's a good thing considering ZIP is used by what is overwhelmingly
the majority of computers out there (SIT is used by only Macintoshes,
a computer that makes up a 2.6% worldwide market share and dropping).
Depsite that, it still would be nice to see a stand alone program
that would handle modern StuffIt archives on the _Apple II_, for those
out there without PC's or Mac's.
