The GALs will continue slowing down the card.  You can't
do anything about this because the card won't work with
nothing in the GAL sockets.  Unless someone provides new
reprogrammed GALs that cease to slow the card, this will
be so.  Note: the "new" GALs that AE was selling before
for the Engineering 65C816 (the non-14MHz ones sold before
1992) slowed down the card for MORE instructions in order
to push the chip to 10MHz.

player can be found here too, if you don't have the
full HCGS program.)

As was noted in the other discussion thread, this slow
down is very slight and barely noticeable.

A more likely reason is that the Vulcan controller was
not designed to handle such speeds.  You might want
to replace that Vulcan controller with a Focus or other
IDE controller.  Alltech was had an advertisement about
the possibility of selling the controller for Vulcan
owners.
