most always takes longer to load, to due intialzarion time for removable media
It's the actualy speed of the media, using a SCSI hard drive with your
might yeild more favorable result depending on the speed of the hard drive,
it's possible to find harddrive with less than a 10 ms access time wich is
extremly fast or rather pretty fast.  Also removable media takes up alot more
cache space, do you have 256k or 1meg?  If you are going to use flopticals or
other removable media, you really need to use the 1meg cache version or
upgrade to 1meg fro resonable speeds and ease of use.
