NTSC->RGB?

With the recent talk on scan doublers and such, I was wondering if anyone
out there has experience with splitting standard NTSC into RGB & sync
signals. I've seen ECG1410 and ECG1416 IC's mentioned but I can't build
anything myself without a full schematic. I know there are more complex
chips out there that handle NTSC/PAL with built in contrast adjustment and
stuff, but I'm looking for a more basic solution to build into my
switchbox.

thanks,
