   On the ROM 3 GS, GS/OS apps can read the mouse directly off the ADB
chain, no mouse "card" required. Thus, if you stay in it, you can get
slot 4 back to do useful things with, but ProDOS 8 stuff would need
slot 4 changed back. Same philosophy as with my recommendation of slot
6-- you very rarely need 5.25" drives and a second focus working at
once. But, these are all suggestions without fully knowing what
hardware and software the original user wants to run.
