Re: Farallon EtherWave question

Ivan,

I've got a couple of Farallon EtherMac iPrint LT (for LocalTalk) units and
they both do AppleTalk (LocalTalk to EtherTalk) well on my IIGS.

In fact, that is what I used when I previously posted my AppleTalk lookup
and status information from the OS X Terminal in my previous post on your
Netatalk topic.

Prior to OS X 10.4, I used the iPrint LT (experimentally) between a IIGS and
OS X with Marsha Jackson's modified Appleshare CDEV to network the two
machines, although that experience was unsatisfactory as it seemed I could
only read from the Server, not write to it. But, it _would_ log on, and
maintain the connection without problem.

The complete kit comes with a Phonenet adapter and cable, a wall wart power
supply, and an Ethernet cable.

I got my last one on eBay several months ago for less than $20.

Now, if I could only put them to good use. <grin>
