Q:GS to Sony RGB help

Greetings,

I am attempting to connect a Sony video monitor with RGB MULTI INPUT (34
pin socket) to an Apple IIGS RGB output but cannot get a colour image.

The Sony connector is as follows (some pins are not used):

1- +5v power Supply
2- +5v power Supply
3- audio
4- GND
5- remote control
6- Composite Video Output GND
7- audio
8- GND (twisted pair with pin 25)
9- GND (twisted pair with pin 26)
10- GND (twisted pair with pin 27)
11- GND
12- GND (twisted pair with pin 29)
13- GND (twisted pair with pin 30)
14-
15- GND (twisted pair with pin 31)
16- GND
17-
18-
19-
20- audio
21- mode select
22-
23- Composite video output
24- audio
25- red input
26- green input
27- blue input
28-
29- blanking input
30- H.sync or composite sync
31- V.sync
32-
33- RGB/Normal mode select
34- audio

The AppleIIGS pinout is as follows (some pins are not used):

1- GND
2- red output
3- Composite sync
4-
5- green input
6- GND
7-
8- +12 volts
9- blue output
10-
11- audio
12- NTSC/PAL output
13- GND
14-
15-

By connecting the IIGS red, green & blue outputs and grounds to the Sony
red, green & blue inputs and grounds, and the IIGS composite sync to the
Sony H.sync/composite sync, I can get a white/black monochrome image. But
some text and background colour combinations cause tearing of the video
image.

Can anyone with experience with this Sony/IIGS combination suggest a
better/proper hookup?

Thanks in advance.
