The quality of my Magnavox monitor is better than I expected. I don't have a picture quality comparison between it and Apple's RGB monitor, but since I got the Magnavox for $5 at a thrift store, it has it's cost advantage. :) They're prone to cold/cracked solder joints, which makes them not too uncommon in thrifts in the first place.
