I'd be surprised if System 6.0.1 was a factor in printing problems with
Publish-It!, because this program runs under ProDOS-8, not GS/OS.

The only significant factors would be changes in system configuration,
or installed software that might be interfering with printing somehow.

The other programs you mention (Paintworks Gold and Platinum Paint) run
under the IIgs System Software, and they use a completely different
printing architecture to that used by Publish It!.

It is possible that Paintworks Gold has a problem with recent system
software, but I doubt there would be a compatibility break between
System 6.0 and 6.0.1.

Perhaps if you can provide more information on your system? In
particular:

- What type of printer do you have, and how is it connected to the
computer? What driver software is installed, and have you checked that
the appropriate driver and port is selected in the appropriate graphical
Control Panel under GS/OS? Have you checked your port settings (where
relevant) match the printer settings?

- Are you able to print by booting from a floppy disk with the
appropriate software installed?
