Re: Kfest '98 Registration Info!!

Re: Pricing questions for Kfest '98

Dr. Buggie,

Sorry I can't quote your previous post about Kfest prices. I viewed your
message at work, but I'm writing this from home. The Usenet news feed from
my ISP did not show me your post. :-(

The best place to direct your pricing question is in an e-mail to Cindy
Adams, chair of the Kfest Committee. She can be reached at
cindyadams@delphi.com. Although I am a member of the Kfest '98 Committee,
I don't know all the ins and outs of the contract with Avila College, nor
am I up to speed on other financial obligations (such as insurance, etc.)
that go into the pricing decisions.

I do want to remind you that Kfest is a nonprofit project planned and
operated by volunteers, with the able assistance of Intrec (makers of
ProTERM telecom software for the Apple II and Macintosh), which is serving
as our financial sponsor for the second straight year. I think it is truly
remarkable that the Apple II community can still support such an event.

I must say I am thrilled that Kfest prices were reduced this year. I will
be attending my third Kfest, and I find the prices to be quite reasonable
and the conference most worthwhile. I can't comment on the academic
conferences you listed, but I can tell you that compared to professional
conferences that I attend (the National Conference of Editorial Writers in
particular), the Kfest registration price is lower.

I hope the pricing structure does not keep you away this year. It was
great to meet you at Kfest '96, and I would love to see you back with us
this summer. I'm really looking forward to Kfest '98.
