It is a little hypocritical that we are all attacking Dr. Tom
for plagerizing while we let the obvious plagerizer in this case
free reign of comp.sys.apple2. I'm not siding with Dr. Tom OR
his enemies in any of his alleged past transgressions, but I'm
just pointing out that if the opponents of Dr. Tom are to be
taken seriously, they must condemn plagerism from another even
if such plagerism was aimed at attacking Dr. Tom himself.
Who is the plagerizer? I believe that it is Clifford Haight.
Here is why:
Several weeks ago, Dr. Tom reported that Mr. Haight joined 1WSW.
Dr. Tom reported that Mr. Haight had composed a MIDI song by
hand to be used for Headhunter. Now, some may say that Dr. Tom
was lying, but remember that during this time, Mr. Haight did
not speak up denying this on the newsgroup. This shows that he
indeed was lying to Dr. Tom.
Next, the Headhunter stack shows up and soon the allegations
begin to fly. During all this time, Mr. Haight says nothing,
but we know he was here because he posted to comp.sys.apple2.
Suddenly, Dr. Tom leaves comp.sys.apple2 saying that "Clifford
Haight told him all about the setup."
This was followed by the following statement:

Why would a member of Dr. Tom's inner circle call him by a
derrogatory name?
I suspect that Clifford Haight was a vigilante out to get
Dr. Tom. He purposefully plagerized music that he knew, say,
Mitchell, would recognize. Then, using Trojan Horse tactics,
he infiltrated 1WSW as a member and told Dr. Tom he could
use the music he supposedly created. Dr. Tom makes the
announcement. Nothing happens for a while, so Mr. Haight
constructs the Headhunter stack. Dr. Tom reports that
Headhunter was released. Mitchell downloads it, recognizes
the music, and Dr. Tom is attacked. Dr. Tom confers with
Clifford Haight, whereupon Mr. Haight tells him point-blank
that it was a setup. He played us all for fools: not just
Dr. Tom, but Mitchell and others.
Whatever Dr. Tom did in the past, should we not stand
against Mr. Haight for his plagerism? It does not matter
if we applaud him for "getting rid" of Dr. Tom or not.
No matter what you think of Dr. Tom, the fact is that it
was Mr. Haight that plagerized, not Dr. Tom. To those
who say they stand against piracy I say this: why do we
not speak against Clifford Haight? Even if you agree
with the ends, you must denounce the means. To not do so
would be hypocrisy.
