You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. As I recall, the RAM Keeper was
expandable to 1 meg. With the battery box attached it supposedly kept your dos
image in memory. Once you format & load your operating system onto the
RAMkeeper, change to boot slot in your machine to the RAMKeeper slot. When you
turn your machine on, RAM is quicker than a mechanical drive, so you get into
GSOS a lot quicker.
