There *are* ways to get a GS to access a networked hard drive, but the
options are severely limited.

GS/OS includes the Appleshare FST for accessing networked drives over
Appletalk, but you can't share GS drives in this manner, because nobody
has ever written an Appleshare server that runs on the GS. (I don't think
there's any technical reason why a GS Appleshare server couldn't be
written, but nobody's done so yet.)

What you *can* do is connect your GS and a Mac to an Appletalk network, and
the GS can access the Mac's hard drive. If you have System 7 or later on
the Mac, all you have to do is go into the Mac's Control Panels and turn on
file sharing. (If Appletalk isn't turned on yet, you'll have to turn it on
in the Chooser first.)
