Thanks for the info (also Nathan) - I do have an AE-GSRam+ and the
slot mover, and the battery is holding out for now. I don't have
a power supply though and no manual - do you know if I can use
a universal A/C adapter and if so, what voltage?

Thanks again,
Mark

It's a board for the Apple IIgs that provides a ROM drive. I presume
from your questions you don't have the manual.

A ROM drive is like a RAM drive, but it maintains its information
when the machine is powered down. The RAMKeeper does this through
the use of a Gel-Cell battery. Besides the main board, you should
   also have:
	   - a wall-plugin power supply
	   - the Gel-Cell battery
	   - the battery-to-card cable
	   - [optional] the slot mover card

Besides acting as a ROM drive, the card can also be used to make use
of two regular RAM cards at the same time. For example, when I still
   used one of these cards, I had a 6-Meg AE-GSRam+ and a 1Meg Apple
card in my ROM 01, for a total of 7.25 Meg on my machine.

The "slot mover" is used to move one of the attached cards over a bit
so that it no longer blocks slot 7.

If you don't have the battery or power supply, you can still use the
card, although it of course won't maintain your data when the GS
   is powered down.

If you need more help on this, let me know. Make sure you tell me
which RAM cards you have available, and whether or not you have
   the power connectors.
