Re: Why is Apple IIGS software not free

That's undoubtedly due to the fact that the Apple Computer Company (whom I
worked for and loved it...but....) is the most disunited company, with
plenty of people who have their head up their butts, a marketing department
that continues to be stuck in the "Apple Rules" bliss of the 80's, and an
ex-CEO that took home half of Apple's worth when he left in his sign-off
bonus.

The Apple II and IIGS were great products...but they're dumped products.
And I know that must upset many of you becuase you have a personal TIE with
your old faithful....tell me about it.
I know plenty of friends and family who got left with an unsupported,
going-nowhere product a few months after they bought it. If I've got a
piece of software and a friend or family of mine wants to play it, you
better believe I'm gonna make him a copy and not think twice about some
copyright issue.
I've got an emulator now and frequently enjoy playing my old nestalgic
games. As for my old GS....well, it's stashed in the closet. I bought it
when I was 14 with my own money (800 bucks of my own money that I earned
working for my dad)...and a year later they dumped it.
Go figure....that's why I started all this....sorry if it bothers those of
you out there who would still like to pretend the Apple II is still alive
and kicking....and would rather charge for its distribution than make it
public domain.
...here's hoping they don't do the same with the Mac,
