The CP-790 interface (common to all platforms) will work on a IIe/IIc/IIgs.
The only problem is software. I do believe that the X-10 computer
interface is no longer sold for the Apple II platform.
The Apple II interface had an RS-232 cable to connect to a Super Serial
Card so you got a DB-25 to X-10 cable. IIc and IIgs users had to hack
their own cable. I've seen articles on making cables for the X-10 to
various II models. A Macintosh interface cable will work on a GS.
There is also an X-10 NDA for the GS but I don't know if it requires any
other software in order for it to run.
And finally, The Timemaster H.O. made by Applied Engineering had a setup
for the X-10 but I dont have a manual for the Timemaster so again I am
clueless there.
If you are on the 'Net' you can do a search on "home automation" and come
up with several sites that deal with X-10 stuff.
