Re: GS Home Control System
Check out http://www.smarthome.com/xtcp290.html. The CP290 X10
interface has been available for many years, and requires only a 600 bps
(?) serial port. Software used to be available for Apple II and
Commodore systems, but SmartHome does not appear to offer an Apple II
version at this time. The control software may be available from
somewhere on the Net (I've only got the DOS & Linux versions). Making a
custom serial cable should be fairly straightforward. (This is truly an
old product: the manual I received includes wiring diagrams for Apple
II, Commodore, & IBM serial ports! It also includes instructions for
writing your own program to program it!) I *think* it would also be
possible to use the supplied IBM-type cable, an Apple
IIe(DB25M)-to-ImageWriter II(mini-DIN-8) cable, and a DB25F-DB9F adapter
to connect to a IIgs port.
