You could also try the shareware ][2Mac1.0.8 (I forgot where I downloaded it from, do a web search). It lets you transfer apple][ disks to emulator disk images. With a utility called A2D33Utility you can then extract files from disk images (though only if they are DOS 3.3 formatted). Maybe that helps you.
