   Well, since you already correctly realize that the different
systems can't read/write disks of the wrong formats (it's a hardware
problem, not just a simple different filesystem) for Apple II 5.25" or
800K 3.5" disks without rare addon hardware. 

   However, if you read the comp.sys.apple2 Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ) at http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/faq/csa2.html section 7.2,
you'll see that Steve Cavanaugh is officially licensed to copy ProDOS
on an Apple II disk along with many essential utilities and comm
programs allowing you to get a system up and running. His contact info
