I second that suggestion.  comp.sys.cbm and comp.sys.atari.8bit are 
two of the newsgroups I read often, as is comp.sys.tandy.  There is 
very little flaming and backstabbing on those groups and people 
generally are out to help other users of these systems that they are 
dedicated to.  That _does_ happen here as well.  You just hafta be 
able to sift through the flames and rants to find it.
