The problem with a "decent" browser, is that most would like that
to mean something that acts a lot like Netscrape Internet Exploder
version 45.0.88 just like they've seen on other computer X,
specifically, including support for all the pictures online. Just to
remind folks, the GS *still* has a 16 color screen (especially if
you're gonna try and display text at the same time; trying to run 256
colors at once is major pain to pull off, and 3200 *kills*
responsiveness on stock GSs), and gif/jpg viewers aren't too common or
speedy.

Basically, as programs like Hypercard and Hyperstudio showed, you
can either put decent graphics or decent text on a screen row, and
there's almost no mixing of the two to make both look decent. You
could code things to put a grayscale picture on separate rows from
the text of a web page, but that'd probably destroy formatting of
inline pictures and especially pages with tables, frames, and other
html <garbage>.

Second Sight video boards (the only exception to the screen color
limitations) are pretty darn rare, and would probably be a real
limited market barely worth programming for.

All of the above is dependent on *someone* wanting to develop such
a program; merely wishing that something happens doesn't produce
results. Given the pirating and rampant flaming of the few honest
developers here on csa2, you'd wonder why the current group of
programmers would want to do anything for such unappreciative
louts. [And ex-programmers who've gone over to the dark side of just
being jerks aren't helping any.]
