I have seen four different types of key switches used in Apple IIe keyboards.
There are long and short versions of the  T  type stem and long and short
versions of the round versions. Unfortunately the short stem types with the
little adapter is a little different in height than the long stem version so if
you substitute one for the other then not all of the key pads will be at the
same height on your keyboard.

Also, at least on the round version, there are some keyboards that use a little
different spring pressure on the shift keys and delete.
