Yeah.  Just take a small screwdriver, those that come in the cheap,
plastic case sets will do nicely.  Gently wedge the blade BETWEEN the chip
and that socket and pry gently to loosen up one end.  Then do it to the
other end of the processor chip - back and forth until it comes out.  I've
had better luck with this method on this particular chip than with a
cheapo chip puller I have.  Gently is the operative word.

Oh, you do know to de-static yourself and the machine before you start to
muck around with its innards, don't you.  Plug the power chord in to both
ends and leave it there(for the machine) take off the lid and touch both
hands to the power supply (for you).
