     Yes; I'm pretty sure "Universe" is correct. The official title is
"Universe II". An Apple II (128k IIe or IIc) version was released by
Omnitrend Software back in 1986. According to the credits, Universe II
was Designed by William G. M. Leslie III and Written by Thomas R.
Carbone and Kevin G. Zerber. The game includes a 105-page manual.

     Mining is just one of many activities in Universe II. Trading,
exploration, navigation, tactical combats, ... employing a variety of
display formats are linked to a Text adventure which centers around
recovering the technology necessary to save the Local Cluster and
reestablish contact with Earth.
