Help! Apple IIC without a clue

Hi, I had recently aquired an Apple IIC from a friend who had it sitting in
his closet. He didn't know a darn thing about it and neither do I. I don't
have any diskettes or software with it and when I turn it on I get garbage
on my screen. I LOVE obsolete hardware and would really like to get this
thing running. It has two 5.25 disk drives with it as well as it's own
internal disk drive. Does it require a startup disk of some sort? If so
where can I purchase such an oldie? I have a commodore 64 without a power
supply that I'll trade for it if interested. Otherwise PLEASE e-mail me
