Simon's correct, in a way. Just look at the way HTML and its bastard
extensions fathered by Microsoft and Netscape have developed for web
browsers. Thank Grud fer Lynx 2.2 is all I can say :)
Seriously though, I don't think there'd be too much of a problem, since
even if some platform dependant extensions were developed, most developers
would prefer using the machine in native modes anyway rather than
passing their code through GENOS. Sort of like killing Amiga OS to run
game code faster. Or bypassing C64 kernal routines.
Perhaps GENOS will be best for creating those little apps that you only
realise you need after you find them. Like Winning Lottery Number Pickers,
Sine Table Generators, Adventure Games, Artificial Intelligence stuff, Maths
function plotters, Biorythm thingies, etcetera, ad nauseum.
