Re: OS For IIGS

True, Microsoft isn't hurting financially. What astounds me is how
Apple is moving to eliminate all of their clone makers. Didn't they learn
anything from the mistakes of Sony and Betamax. The more companies
building copies of your product, they more your 'format' and OS is going
to be used? This is why PCs are so abundant in the world.

The Betamax format offered greater quality, faster operation, more
versatility and was an all-around superior format but it lost out to the
lesser quality format VHS. Sony mismanaged the promotion of the Beta
system and VHS pushed with mass market economy and appeal, subsequently
winning the video wars. Apple is losing for the same reasons.

I use Beta all the time (having only 1 VHS unit because I can't
tolerate the terrible picture quality and the slow clunky response of the
system in general. I prefer to use my Apple computers as opposed to a PC
as the Apple finder is far superior but the PCs are the world leaders.
