Actually, here in the United States you own the copyright on any
original writing or work unless you have an agreement with someone that
states otherwise.  You are not required to register it with the
government, however, if you don't, you will have to be prepared to bring
evidence with you to court to back up your ownership.  So surprise,
posts are considered protected and legally the poster can restrict the
use.  As a practical matter this is going to be almost impossible to
enforce.
