Re: TextEdit and StyleIte

Hello,

Yes, the TextEdit tool set is bugged !
If you try to open a document with a number of styles greater than or
equal to 1024, TextEdit hangs up in an infinite loop (for the
reverse-engineering people, the routine is located at $8AC9).

It seems weird that when you create a text and adds styles to it, the
tool set handles more than 1023 different styles !

The conclusion is that TextEdit is unable to perform a good conversion
from the TEFormat structure to the StyleSuper handles !!

Yes! Double-deck Yes! I thought it would have been more fun for
you to meet this f.... bug quickly

I DO agree, there still are applications that have to deal with more
than 1024 styles in texts (source code, html documents and so on...)

Please Mr Apple, may we have the Tool034 source code for we try
and remove some dead code and fix some buggy routines. I have done
my personal source code, the comments are not finished but I work
hard on it !! I especially liked the STA $FE0212 (hihihihi) !

Thanks for playing !!
