     As Nathan indicates, it sounds like you may be running into a
compatibility problem. Which programs are you trying to start?

     If the wares are pretty old and you are running System 6, try
booting GS/OS 5.04 from diskette and see if will start the programs. If
'5.04 won't work, boot an old (like 1987) GS utility diskette and give
"ProDOS-16" a shot at starting the programs.
