It's not an ignorant question; ignorant is assuming that it can't do X
because some guy who's never worked on anything lower than a 386 said it
couldn't.  :)  So...  There are no JPEG viewers for the //e, but we can
view GIFs (offline).  Everything else on a webpage is garbage.  You can
get on the web with lynx and see the text of a webpage (unless the idiot
who wrote the page made it browser-exclusive, whereupon you have to be a
little sneakier to get the vital info).

 CBE|  Is there any possibility it will be able to do so in the
    | foreseeable future?

There's a lot of work on doing this with a GS, the //e's advanced
sibling.  Spectrum Internet Suite is a "graphic lynx" browser but does
not show the pix then and there like if you were using Netscape.  Other
programs are out or beta-testing or planned.  Not much else for the //e.

Recently I was trying to get ticket info for a show in Seattle which is
*not* being handled by Ticketmaster (hey, bravo!), and the ad in the
paper said to visit such-n-such website.  I did and there's nothing on
the first page using lynx but three links, none visible to me.  Had to
use the "=" (where am I) and "\" (unHTML this mess) functions to find
out what links to go directly to.  One put up a logo, one went to
another theatre page, and one was the ticket info... which was
completely viewable and I got what I wanted.  It's that front door which
would normally frighten off a non-graphic-browser type I snicker at.
