In search of ORCA
I was playing around with my GS the other day, and I did something
very foolish. I only have a 40 MB hard drive, so I was deleting files
to make some space.
Well, I got a little overzealous and deleted some critical files that
the ORCA shell needs to launch. I really like the ORCA shell, and I have
no desire to use the Finder. I also need ORCA to get at my development
stuff.
I'm not completely sure which files I deleted that it needs, but I know
one for sure. When it boots, it says-
"Unable to locate ORCA Shell command tables. The shell cannot
recover from this error"
Then it boots the Finder.
So here's my dilemma- I pirated ORCA many years ago, so I don't have
the original installation disks. I know, that was a terrible thing to
do, and I feel very guilty about it. In any event, I would really like
to be able to get at all the dozens of games and stuff that I wrote
under ORCA, so I'm trying to locate a new set of ORCA 2.0 installation
disks.
I would very cheerfully pay for it (I repented from my days of pirating
long ago), but the company seems to be gone. Does anybodt know if the
company stil exists, or somewhere where I can get this package?
I'm specifically looking for ORCA Shell 2.0, ORCA/C, and ORCA/M.
