It's true that this can be a very difficult problem.  Perhaps the
solution is something like mailing lists.  In the Tandy model 100
world, we have a list that works well, no flaming idiots.

We could have several, and people could subscribe to the ones they
need:
1) Apple 2 self righteous lunatics
2) Apple 2 "pirating scumbags"
3) rest of us. :)
