    $250 Canadian (aprox US$185) is indeed more than an Apple IIgs
system is worth these days. Some two years ago, I purchased a basic
GS system (CPU, 3.5 and 5.25 floppy drives, RGB monitor, keyboard,
mouse and memory card) for $90 Canadian. Coincidently, it was
even from someone in your area who was temporarily in my city to
attend university.

    At best, I would say a complete Apple IIgs is worth about US$50
to US$75 these days. More if it has any upgrades added. Certainly 
there are people out there who will disagree with me, but you must 
keep in mind what old 486 and color Macintoshes sell for today (and 
those are often considerably more powerful than an Apple IIgs). The 
sad truth is, when 2-3 year old "obsolite" IBM and Macintoshes are
selling for just a few hundred dollars or less, it considerably
drops the value on older, and less powerful, 8 and 16-bit systems.

    As standard? No, there is no such thing as an Apple IIgs sold that
had a built-in hardrive (minus the never released Mark Twain prototype).

    A few companies offered 3rd party add-ons, which would put an
internal hardrive in an Apple IIgs. However, as useful as they are,
internal hardrives are not that common to find with a IIgs because
of the high price they cost back then.
